Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hannemann

Jürgen Hannemann obtained a Ph.D. in Biology at the Heinrich-Pette-Institute in Hamburg in 1992. His thesis focused on the analysis of receptor alterations in factor independent growing mutants of hematopoietic cells. Between 1992 and 1994 he did a post-doc in the group of Carol Stocking at the same institute and a second postdoc between 1994 and 1998 in London at the institute of cancer research (Prof. Melvin Greaves). During this time he studied the effects of fusion proteins caused by mutations in human leukemia cells. In 1998 he started in the company CellTec GmbH in Hamburg as a Senior Scientist and became “head of produktion” in 2000 and “managing director” in 2001. In 2005 he received a call as a founding dean at the University of Applied Sciences Biberach in Baden-Württemberg. Here he is organizing the faculty Biotechnolo-gy with bachelor and master courses in Pharmaceutical – and Industrial Biotechnology and is teaching in the field of “Good Manufacturing Practice” and “Cell Culture Technology”.
