Dr. Christian Ullrich
Christian Ullrich, Dr. rer. nat., studied Chemistry in Berlin and finished 1991 his thesis in Biochemistry at the TU Berlin. He started his industrial career 1991 in the in vitro diagnostics business at Henning Berlin GmbH in immunoassay production and was Head of Quality Control (§ 15 AMG) with BRAHMS Diagnostica GmbH and HUMAN GmbH. In 2002 he joined Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik (later Siegfried Biologics GmbH, then Avesta Biotherapeutics GmbH), a CMO for mammalian cell culture derived recombinant APIs based in Kleinmachnow near Berlin, where he occupied various positions as Head of Production, Quality Control, Quality Management, and Qualified Person. In those years Christian completed a post-graduate study of Nanobiotechnology at TU Kaiserslautern. In 2009 he co-founded a consultancy in pharmaceutical biotechnology and related areas. He entered the field of cellular therapies in 2010 when he took over the Quality Manager position including Regulatory Affairs of the Stem Cell Facility at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, followed by Head of Quality Unit of Cell Medica GmbH, at that time the German subsidiary of Cell Medica Ltd, His current position is Head of Quality of Repairon GmbH engaged in the development of tissue-engineered products. Since 2004 he is a member of the Focus group Pharmaceutical Biotechnology of APV (International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology).
