Georg Boeck, PhD

Georg Boeck, Ph.D., is a pharmaceutical scientist and studied pharmaceutical sciences in Regensburg, Germany. He finished his thesis in Pharmaceutical Technology 1996 at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. The doctoral thesis "Aqueous Liposome Dispersions for Pulmonary Delivery" was awarded by APV with the "APV-Recognition of the outstanding doctoral thesis in Pharmacy of the year 1996". Georg has been working with Boehringer Ingelheim since 1996. He started his industrial career as laboratory head in the Respiratory Drug Delivery Department in Ingelheim and was responsible for GMP bulk manufacturing of clinical trial supplies of solid oral dosage forms and capsules for powder inhalation. In the year 1999 he was appointed head of "Device Development", a development laboratory for inhalers, where he was responsible for the development of the Respimat® Soft MistTM Inhaler. Georg was honoured with the Boehringer Ingelheim “German Development Award 2004” in recognition of his important contribution to the development of the Respimat® Soft MistTM Inhaler. In 2004 Georg moved to the Pharmaceutical Development Department in Biberach, Germany, and established the group "New Technologies and External Cooperations". Georg’s current job title is “Director”. Georg's main areas of research include solid oral dosage forms with a special focus on poorly water soluble compounds. Georg is appointed "Fachapotheker für Pharmazeutische Technologie" (expert pharmacist for pharmaceutical technology).
